The Association of Patients for Crohn’s Disease and Ulcerative Colitis of Serbia was founded in 2010 and has been a part of the European Federation of Crohn’s & Ulcerative Colitis Associations (EFCCA) since its inception.
The main philosophy of the association is to provide support and education to all patients while raising awareness of inflammatory bowel diseases in the general population.
UKUKS would like to express special thanks to the IBD center of KBC Zvezdara for their valuable contributions to us. Mutual support and cooperation have been ongoing for years, and we are proud that this IBD center initiated certain projects, including the IBD counseling center with doctors, which is one of the largest. The implementation of this center, which received a great response, took place for the first time in the premises of KBC Zvezdar, and later expanded to IBD telemedicine and an ONLINE counseling center, mainly due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The IBD team of this center participated in educating our people through a series of videos as part of the IBD podcast, guide, and now a book.
We would like to express our sincere thanks for entrusting one of our young doctors to participate in writing the chapter, “How to improve the quality of life of patients with inflammatory bowel diseases.” This aligns with our association’s goal.
This book represents a significant step towards our goal, and we are proud that there is a team of people working tirelessly to educate our doctors and help us, the patients, to achieve a better status and quality of life.
