Online Education and Monograph: “IBD in 12 Lessons

Inflammatory bowel diseases such as Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis are chronic conditions that significantly affect patients’ lives. The use of various diagnostic procedures and biological drugs has greatly improved treatment outcomes.

The goal of online IBD education in 12 lessons is to further improve the level of healthcare and quality of life for these patients through real cases from everyday clinical practice, interactive participation, and a multidisciplinary approach.

The original creator of the project is Assoc. Dr. Srđan Marković.

The Monograph “IBD in 12 Lessons” emerged from online education.

Docent Srđan Marković and Prof. Doctor Petar Svorcan authored the monograph “Inflammatory Bowel Diseases in 12 Lessons,” aiming to cover almost all clinical situations in which patients with these diseases can find themselves. They presented contemporary recommendations and concluded each chapter with realistic case presentations, graphically displayed, which put the reader in a real situation and applied the knowledge acquired in the chapter through questions and answers.

Academician Prof. Dr. Zoran Krivokapić and Prof. Dr. Njegica Jojić reviewed the monograph and emphasized its importance. Prof. Dr. Jojić stated during the promotion that the “Monograph” of IBD in 12 Lessons is unique in many respects, presenting the latest professional guidelines in recognizing, diagnosing, and treating patients with inflammatory bowel diseases. The book has practical significance, as cases from clinical practice are presented at the end of each chapter, along with a tabular representation of the adopted algorithms.

The monograph is significant for the professional public and patients suffering from these diseases. The authors and their collaborators come from the most experienced and largest center for inflammatory bowel diseases.
